Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of the VoicEra website, documentation, GitBook, GitHub organisation, and the hosted evaluation sandbox operated by COSS India. The VoicEra source code itself is separately governed by the MIT License in the repository.

Acceptance

By accessing or using any of the properties listed above, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the properties. These terms are governed by the laws of India and disputes are subject to the courts at Bengaluru.

Permitted use

  • You may read, share and link to any public page.
  • You may fork the source and run your own deployment, subject to the MIT License.
  • You may use the sandbox for evaluation, learning, prototyping and demos.

Not permitted

  • Using the sandbox with real citizen data, PII, PHI, financial credentials or any protected personal information.
  • Attempts to overwhelm, probe, deface or reverse-engineer the sandbox or its underlying models beyond ordinary evaluation.
  • Using VoicEra or the VoicEra name to imply endorsement by the Government of India, MeitY, BHASHINI, AI4Bharat, EkStep or COSS India without written permission.
  • Building offerings that deceive users about being human, mislead citizens about government services, or violate the DPDP Act, IT Act, or other applicable law.

No warranty

VoicEra is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis without any express or implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Voice AI systems can and do make mistakes; do not rely on outputs as authoritative advice, and always keep a human in the loop for high-stakes decisions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, COSS India, its contributors and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your use of the properties or the software.

Third-party services

The properties may link to or integrate with third-party services (for example GitHub, GitBook, or model APIs). Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services.

Changes

We may update these terms as the project evolves. Continued use of the properties after a change means you accept the updated terms.
